Diwali is an ancient Indian festival celebrated in autumn every year. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness or good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Before Diwali night, people clean, renovate, and decorate their homes and offices. On Diwali night, Hindus dress up in new clothes or their best outfit, light up diyas (lamps and candles) inside and outside their home, participate in family puja (prayers) typically to Lakshmi, the goddess of fertility and prosperity.
We are celebrating this at the Market Sunday 9th October 2016 in association with Asian Events Media with a large selection of items to purchase to get into the spirit and be prepared for the Diwali which this year is on the 30th October.
